The first path of the MT Academy ended which formed the new “Cloud architects”, promoted by the Department of Development Policies of the Basilicata Region – led by the commissioner Francesco Cupparo – in collaboration with Amazon Web Services (AWS) and with the coordination of development Basilicata.
In the final event of Friday 27 June, at the House of Emerging Technologies of Matera, the results of the course were illustrated, the testimonies of the participants shared and the professional profiles presented, with the aim of relating them to the Lucanian production world.
The route involved all young Lucanians in over 300 hours, including lessons, workshops, project work, corporate visits and moments of comparison with Amazon Web Services professionals. Several entrepreneurial excellence of southern Italy have contributed to the path that operate with the cloud in the sectors of culture, creativity and tourism and many young Lucanian experts who brought their testimony to the classroom.
The first Academy organized together with Amazon Web Services was an opportunity to enhance Lucanian talents, especially graduates and graduates from Unibas, but also talents who have decided to return in order to spend their skills in Basilicata.
There was no lack of reflections on the strategic role of cloud computing for the public administration, for companies and for the entire regional innovative ecosystem. The figure of the cloud architecting can become strategic for the production world, especially for the sectors related to digital, cinematographic, gaming production, the management of digital twins, the care of tangible and intangible heritage and tourism. He anticipates the times and asks for an investment by the entrepreneurial and institutional actors of Basilicata, to grow in sustainable form and increase job opportunities.
The initiative, which will be replicated with a second edition in autumn, is part of the strategy of the Basilicata Region aimed at attracting investments and talents in the area and promoting the growth of new highly qualified profiles, capable of dealing with the challenges of digitalization and actively contribute to the innovation of the territory.
