ASEN’s arrest trip was heavy, because in one fell swoop Alex Marquez saw his delay in the world championship towards his brother Marc ascended to 68 points, once again winner on the Dutch land. For this reason, the Gresini Racing pilot did not want to waste time and therefore, once confirmed the decomposed fracture of the second metacarpus of the left hand, immediately flew to Madrid to undergo surgery.
“The surgery for the subcapital fracture of the second metacarp of the left hand has been successfully completed. Further updates on the recovery of Alex Marquez will follow in the next few days,” announced the Faenza team on its social channels shortly after midnight.
At the moment the recovery times of the Cervera pilot have not yet been disclosed, which yesterday was involved in an accident with Pedro Acosta during the sixth round of the Holland Grand Prix. Between the two there was a slight contact out of the curve 5, in which the brake lever of his Ducati was pulled, making him end up in the air in a fairly ruinous way.
“The only thing I can say is that I will ask Alex to take the time necessary to recover adequately and return to our level, therefore at the top,” commented on Sunday the sports director of Gresini Racing, Michele Masini, on the official website of the MotoGP. “I don’t know how it will feel in ten days. We will have to see this week, which will be fundamental.”
Time holds for the next race, because in 11 days it will be time to take to the track at Sachsenring for the German Grand Prix, which will open the “back to back” that precedes the summer break. Already so, thinking of being able to really worry the older brother appears very complicated. It is clear that in the event that he is unable to return to his GP24 on the German ups and downside, the world championship dream would most likely be to be archived for this season.
