Ukrainian minister: “Crimes committed by Russians must be punished”

”Since the beginning of the war in Ukraine we have noticed many problems on the legal front, in particular the crimes committed by Russian soldiers since the beginning of the invasion. Our people need to know that the crimes committed by the Russians are punished, that there is a legal response. We also need resources and expect help from our allies.” Thus the Minister of Justice of Ukraine Denys Maliuska today in Venice to participate in the G7 which opened at the Scuola Grande San Giovanni Evangelista. At the summit together with the minister Carlo Nordior the Canadian Minister of Justice is participating Arif Viranithe French Eric Dupond-Moretti, German Marco Buschmann, the Japanese vice-minister Hiroaki Kadoyamathe United Kingdom’s Secretary of State for Justice Alex Chalk and the Attorney General of the United States Merrick Garland.
”Today and tomorrow, we will talk about some extremely important issues. Firstly, Ukraine’s accession to the European Union and the efforts Ukraine is making to achieve this goal. France – underlined the French Minister Éric Dupond-Moretti – fully supports its Ukrainian friends, in particular on this issue. Furthermore, the Italian Presidency, and we obviously support this proposal, wanted to put the fight against organized crime, in all its aspects, on the agenda. Drug trafficking, but also human trafficking and, of course, the fight against those who take advantage of migrants. I think we all agree on the fact that the fight against this organized crime can only be transnational and that we must work together, as we will do and as we have begun to do”.

”Because, as you know, organized crime knows no borders, so we must remember that we will always, always, fight against this organized crime that is corrupting our states and threatening our democracies,” underlined the French Minister of Justice .
