Fans who were hoping for a second season of Shogun will be satisfied: in fact, in these hours Deadline has exclusively reported that Hiroyuki Sanadaproducer and star of the acclaimed TV series based on the novel by James Clavell, has signed with FX to return to new episodes.

Deadline talks about ‘other elements being worked on’ for the creation of the second season of Shogun, but clearly the first and fundamental piece for the continuation of the series was secure Hiroyuki Sanada’s contractwhose journey as the character Lord Yoshii Toranaga to become shōgun and lead Japan to an era of peace was told in the 10-episode adaptation of the 1980s novel: in the coming weeks, according to Deadline, FX will focus to finalize other agreements for bring Shogun towards a second season in light of the great commercial and critical success achieved by the series.
