Joost Klein disqualified from Eurovision, what happened

“The Dutch artist Joost Klein will not participate in this year’s Eurovision Song Contest Final“. This is what the Eurovision organizers announced in a note. “The Swedish police have investigated a complaint filed by a female member of the production crew following an incident that occurred after his performance in Thursday night’s semi-final. While the legal process proceeds, it would not be appropriate for him to continue in the competition.”

“We wish to clarify that, contrary to some media reports and speculation on social media, this incident did not involve other competitors or members of the delegations. We have a zero tolerance policy towards inappropriate behavior during our event and are committed to ensuring a safe and secure working environment for all competition staff. In light of this – the note continues – Joost Klein’s behavior towards a team member was considered a violation of the competition rules. The Final of the 68th Eurovision Song Contest will now go ahead with 25 participating songs.”
