Fiery climate in Malmo on the eve of the final of Eurovision 2024. The protests for the participation of Israel the European singing contest now also involves the competing singers, who have begun to express their dissent in a (more or less) evident way. The first signs came last night at a press conference, during a speech by the Israeli Eden Golan: the Greek Marina Satti he pretended to fall asleep, while the Dutchman Joost Klein he covered his face.

Eurovision, Dutch Klein skips the dress rehearsal
The latter then became the protagonist of another rather controversial case. The representative of the Netherlands did not perform at the first dress rehearsal of the final: at the beginning of the rehearsal he went on stage to say hello, but then when it was his turn to sing the performance did not take place. The reasons are not known.
The organizer of the event, theEbu, said: “We are currently investigating an incident reported to us involving the Dutch artist. The singer will not rehearse until further notice. We have no further comment at this time and will update in due course.” The BBC speculates that something may have happened behind the scenes, due to the fact that Klein was supposed to perform before Eden Golan, the representative of Israel.
Angelina’s message
But it doesn’t end here. The press conference of the so-called “Big 5” (Italy, France, Germany, Spain and the United Kingdom) together with Sweden was scheduled for 6.30 pm, but the event was cancelled. Angelina Mango she still showed up in the press room, surprising the reporters with a cover of John Lennon’s “Imagine”. «Hello everyone, I’m here because I would really like to express my thoughts in my own way with my own words» declared the visibly emotional artist, speaking to international journalists in English.
«When I came here I saw artists just like me who live for their music and speak through their music. Last night I performed on that beautiful Eurovision stage with my heart full of love. I went to bed so proud of myself and all of us. Now I want to let the music speak,” she said. She then began singing “Imagine” accompanied by a guitar, a hymn to peace throughout the world.
