Despite a Beijing Express came second behind the Pastry Chefs, Antonella Fiordelisi and Estafania Bernal they couldn’t be more smiley. «We are very happy with the path we have taken. Even if the icing on the cake was missing to complete everything, it’s as if we had won, not to mention that when a cake is very good you don’t even eat the icing”, says Antonella who, after the experience at Big Brother VIP, she managed to bring out her more playful and lighter side, keeping away from both sentimental squabbles and poisons. The same goes for Bernal who, after arriving atIsland of the Famousto Beijing Express she discovered I am not a formidable travel companion, but also an experience that has managed to make her appreciate the little things again.
So second place doesn’t burn.
Estefania Bernal: “Absolutely not. We are very happy with the path we have taken, also because we have managed to demonstrate that we have gone beyond certain stereotypes.”
What kind of stereotypes?
Antonella Fiordelisi: «That models are unpleasant as well as stupid. TO Beijing we managed to bring out our essence and demonstrate it to the people who started writing to us as if they were surprised at what we were like. This was our victory.”
Estafania Bernal: «Beijing Express it brought out the beauty in us, and there could be no greater joy than that of being seen for who we are.”
The impression I had seeing you at Beijing Express is that you really had fun: was that the case?
Antonella Fiordelisi: «Maybe even too much. Even though sometimes we wanted to get angry at all the penalties we received from our teammates, we always faced everything with a smile and with positivity, and this paid off for us.”
Estefania Bernal: «Not to mention when they gave us two penalty points in a row and we incredibly won that stage».
What is the worst malus you have survived in your life?
Antonella Fiordelisi: «Being judged badly by people who never knew me enough. When I was a little younger I suffered a lot from this, but over time I became stronger from a character point of view because having a lot of criticism also helps you grow. Over the years I have managed to transform the penalty into a bonus, also because criticism must sometimes be accepted, especially when it is measured and respectful.”
Estefania Bernal: «I have been modeling for almost 11 years, and I can say that I have become much more confident than before. She was a great achievement.”
Antonella, how do you not get sucked into criticism?
Antonella Fiordelisi: «Forcing yourself to see them as something that can spur you on. The same thing, however, does not apply to the exaggerated and violent ones, which fortunately I manage to slip on myself. TO Beijing I haven’t seen many of them, you can see that people have re-evaluated us a lot, and I’m happy about this.”
Estefania Bernal: “It’s true, we are no longer just beautiful models.”
What are you afraid of?
Antonella Fiordelisi: «To lose the people I love. The thought that my parents will leave me one day, for example, scares me a lot.”
Estefania Bernal: “Me too. I try not to think about it and just focus on the positive things.”
At the final they read your cards and predicted a future full of love: do you believe it?
Estefania Bernal: «I was lucky because I got engaged immediately afterwards Beijing Express…».
Antonella Fiordelisi: «I, however, will have to wait two years to find the man of my life, according to what was predicted to me. Beijing Express it arrived when I had recently broken up with my ex, with whom it didn’t end very well. Once I returned, I finally managed to free myself from that person as the cards had predicted, and now I am ready to open myself up to love again. I don’t lose hope and, if everything comes true, in two years I will get engaged, get married and have children. In the meantime I’ll try to have fun.”
Estefania Bernal: «Also because I think that love shouldn’t be looked for: it comes by itself. I got engaged at a time I would never have thought of, it just happened.”
