demonstration with thousands of people

The conflict in the Middle East continues to be the protagonist of the Eurovision Song Contest 2024. This year, Israel’s participation has sparked several controversies and today in Malmo, Sweden, where the singing event takes place, thousands of people are expected for several demonstrations. The most significant protest is the pro-Palestine one, which started from the Stora Torget power station. Around 25,000 people from across Sweden, Denmark and other countries join the march, which runs through the streets of central Malmo to a stage where artists will perform a protest concert.

Before the event, a welcome event for the Israeli delegation to Eurovision will take place, organized by the Sweden-Israel Friendship Association. The police have put in place a comprehensive security plan for the duration of Eurovision week. This evening the second Eurovision semi-final will also feature Angelina Mango and the young Israeli singer, Eden Golan, whose participation was highly contested.
