It will be held in Piedmont, in Manta (CN), next May 24th, the “Technical Day: what future for the kiwi?” organized by the Actinidia Working Group of SOI (Italian Horticultural and Fruit and Vegetable Society)coordinated by Cristos Xiloyannis in collaboration with Bartolomeo Dichio (University of Basilicata), Ugo Palara (Agrintesa), Raffaele Testolin (University of Udine), Guglielmo Costa (University of Bologna), Lorenzo Berra (Agrion Foundation) and Luca Nari (Agrion Foundation).
The event will address crucial issues relating to the management of kiwi die-off, examining factors such as soil fertility and structure, irrigation management, the introduction of new rootstocks and the implementation of good agricultural practices in relation to climate change. Following the arguments, they will be rThe main results of the works presented during the ISHS international conference on kiwifruit in New Zealand have been reported (XI International Symposium on Kiwifruit 2024).
The works will begin at 8.30 in the Conference Room – Agrion Foundation headquarters, in Via Faliletto 24 in Manta (CN) and will be divided into two sessions: the morning will be dedicated to technical-scientific contributions, moderated by Guglielmo Costa; field visits will then be scheduled.
The event involves researchers and technicians in the sector including Lorenzo Berra, Luca Nari, Chiara Morone, Cristos Xiloyannis, Bartolomeo Dichio, Mirco Montefiori, Alba Mininni.
The debate and conclusions will be led by the coordinator of the SOI Actinidia Working Group, Cristos Xiloyannis.
