Tennis, Sara Errani wins the Rome Internationals 12 years after the last time

The tennis player from Massa Lombarda triumphed at the Foro Italico together with Jasmine Paolini

Sara Errani, at the age of 37, won the doubles tournament (paired with the 28-year-old Tuscan Jasmine Paolini) at the Rome tennis internationals, 12 years after the last time with Roberta Vinci.

The No. 3 seeds, the American Coco Gauff and the New Zealander Erin Routliffe, lost in the final

«It’s a great joy to win here in Rome», declared the tennis player from Massa Lombarda, so winning in Rome 12 years later «tastes crazy».

Now the goal is the Paris Olympics: «Will we be favored at the Olympics? I would say no – Errani replied in the press room -, there are many couples who can play very well: we will give it our all, but it’s a long way from here to being favourites».
