MotoGP French Grand Prix 2024: Martin wins, but what a race!

Superlative victory for the Spaniard Jorge Martin(Ducati Pramac) in today’s French Grand Prix.

The Iberian’s triumph comes after an exciting duel with Marc Marquez(Ducati Gresini) And Francesco Bagnaia (Ducati Lenovo). Marquez, starting from thirteenth position on the grid, achieved an excellent comeback, closing his performance with a fantastic overtaking on Bagnaia, who remained in the lead for many laps, only to hand over to Martin at the end, on the last lap. The fourth place is missing from this duel, Aeneas Bastianini(Ducati Lenovo)who incurred a long lap penalty for a contact with Aleix Espargaro during the race and authored several very fast laps in the final.

Vinales(Aprilia) closes the top 5, managing to outdistance the Romans in the final Di Giannantonio(Ducati VR46) And Morbidelli(Ducati Pramac), sixth and seventh respectively: first Sunday race concluded in the points for the former Yamaha rider. They complete the top 10 Binder(KTM)who started last due to a problem in qualifying, the aforementioned Espargaro(Aprilia)who started well but was never able to fight for the podium and was also slowed down by the contact with Bastianini and finally Alex Marquez(Ducati Gresini). Strong disappointment for Acosta(GASGAS)who fell at the start of the race, as well as Bezzecchi(Ducati VR46): French away match to forget for them.

Bitter Le Mans race also for the host Quartararo(Yamaha), who crashed when he was in a really good sixth position given Yamaha’s performance today. The other Frenchman, Zarco(HondaLCR) he did not go beyond the twelfth place finish.

Martin extends his lead in the World Championship with 129 points, against Bagnaia’s 91 and Marquez and Bastianini’s 89.
