Lots of news for‘Italian Horror Fantasy Fest 2024which will take place from 13 to 16 June at the Stardust Village, located in the center of the four Roman districts of Eur, Torrino, Mostacciano and Spinaceto, surrounded by a large green area of approximately 33,000 square metres.
Official presenter of the event – created in 2010 by the artistic director, producer and director Luigi Pastore as a summer event on the Roman coast with the prerogative of celebrating the masters of Italian genre cinema and discovering new emerging talents and artists who continue this glorious tradition – this year it will be the actor and filmmaker Paolo Ruffini.
Moreover, the passion of the author of Bad Boy for horror cinema is certainly not new, considering that he was artistic director of the “Joe D’Amato Horror Festival” and that already in 2014 he took part in the Italian Horror Fantasy Fest to present Dario Argento on the occasion of the home video release of 4 gray velvet flies.
And, speaking of Dario Argento, the special effects wizard Sergio Bootswho collaborated on most of the films directed by the Master of Italian thrilling, will not only create the new IHFF 2024 award, but will have an exhibition of his creations with some pieces never exhibited before and, thanks to the participation of his school Fantastic Forge will involve the festival audience by subjecting them to make-up and prosthetic tricks.

President of the Quality Jury will be the acclaimed filmmaker Eros Puglielli, which will award the prize for the best feature film and the best short film in competition; but the artistic direction of the Festival will also confer the Bruno Mattei Award – dedicated to the late director of Virus – Hell of the living dead And Rats – Night of terror – as recognition of an author or artist who has distinguished himself in a particular way.
The technical sponsor Flat Parioli (www.flatparioli.com) will award the prize Flat Parioli Award to the author who has most distinguished himself in innovating the grammar of his genre of reference, with the Flat Parioli plaque, which provides for the coverage of the costs necessary for the video post-production, carried out within his own laboratory, of a work which the same author would direct in subsequent years.
From 13 May to 13 June 2024 the official promo will be broadcast on GoldTv, LazioTv and Teleregione Canale 74 – with a soundtrack composed by Maestro Claudio Simonetti – of the Italian Horror Fantasy Fest 2024, whose technical sponsors include Cooperativa Radio Taxi 3570, Chin8 Neri, Rustblade, Profondo Rosso Store and the Dario Argento Horror Museum.
