Cavallino d’Oro 2024: the awards ceremony at the Bastioni

The prestigious award that the Porta Santo Spirito district awards every year to the Arezzo player with the highest average rating was won by Luca Trombini for the 2023/2024 season. The prize will be awarded on Tuesday 14 May, at 9.15 pm, at the Porta Santo Spirito District Museum and the evening will be open to all.

Throughout the entire Serie C championship, the amaranth goalkeeper was a point of reference for the team led by Paolo Indiani to reach the goal of eighth place in the standings with subsequent access to the playoffs. Trombini therefore writes his name in the roll of honor of the oldest football award in Italy, now in its sixty-seventh year. The Arezzo goalkeeper rightfully enters Arezzo football history alongside players who have already won the Cavallino d’Oro such as Bozzao, Tassinari, Neri, Pellicanò, Orsi, Tovalieri, Floro Flores, Moscardelli.

The final ranking: Luca Trombini 6.69, Niccolò Gucci 6.59, Emiliano Pattarello 6.53.

The Cavallino d’Oro was born in 1958 from an idea of the rector Giulio Teoni. The board of directors of the Porta Santo Spirito district therefore decided to establish the prize and assign it to the US Arezzo player who stood out for the greatest and best performance both from a technical and competitive point of view.

The first to win the Cavalino d’Oro was Gianfranco Bozzao who was awarded a gold medal. From the following year the recognition was replaced with a gold trophy depicting the prancing horse, coat of arms of the city.

During the evening at the Gialloblu Museum, Luca Trombini will be given the “La perla amaranto” award, a recognition now in its seventh edition and which the editorial staff of Amaranto Magazine assigns to the protagonist of a ballistic feat, a goal, a save, an enlightening throw, a save on the line.

Museo Amaranto and Orgoglio Amaranto will participate in the evening.
