The Florentine from Best Lap on the official Nova Proto NP 01-2 won the Apulian race for the 12th time and achieved the new record in 2’07”46. Rest of the podium of the second round of the all-Sicilian Italian Superclimb Championship, with a roaring Francesco Conticelli and a tenacious Fazzino on Osella. Leogrande wins the CN on Osella and is the first from Puglia.

Simone Faggioli on the official Nova Proto NP 01-2 won the 65th Coppa Selva di Fasano. For the Florentine of Best Lap, this is the 12th success at the Apulian race organized by Egnathia Corse, which was the second round of the Italian Superclimb Championship. Faggioli after game 1 in attack and a time of 2’08″20 further refined his performance in game 2 and obtained the new record in 2’07″46 over the 5.6 km between Fasano and Selva.

The podium was completed by an all-Sicilian challenge which saw the surge and the head-down attack in race 2 by Francesco Conticelli from Ateneo Motorsport from Marsala on Nova Proto NP 01-2 with overtaking on the good and always tenacious fellow competitor from Syracuse Luigi Fazzino, who on an Osella PA 30 had finished in 2nd place in race 1. Both island drivers did well to regain concentration after the numerous interruptions in the race.

A great weekend for the whole team with particularly satisfying results – says Simone Faggioli – the opponents are there and they are getting closer and closer, so it is important to keep the progress of the development work high. I am pleased that young people are constantly bringing themselves more to the center of the scene”.

Just below the podium was Diego Degasperi from Trentino who immediately moved into the top positions in his third race on Norma M20 FC Zytek. At the head of the 2000 class and with a profitable comeback in the top five in race 2, the other Sicilian from Comiso Samuele Cassibba on Nova Proto V8 Sinergy, who adjusted his shot between the two competition climbs. The Lucanian from Vimotorpsort, Achille Lombardi, was half satisfied. On the Osella PA 21 4C he was slowed down by the accidental triggering of the battery switch in race 1 and then in race 2 he was able to recover to 6th place and reward the work of Team Puglia.

Giancarlo Maroni Jr from Lombardy was increasingly concrete and proved to be increasingly effective on the Nova Proto with supercharged engine and finished in 7th place. Good weekend for Alberto Chinnici from Nisse, who is increasingly in tune with the Osella PA 2000 turbo managed by Team Catapano – “Now we are in the right direction” – he stated at the end of the race where he finished 8th. Domenico Scola placed in 9th position, but the Calabrian is aware of the work still needed on the Osella PA 2000, which lacks agility.

Completing a prestigious top ten formed on an absolutely selective track was the young CST native from Nisse Andrea Di Caro, who once again won in the category reserved for sportscars with a motorbike engine on the 1100 cc Nova Proto NP 03 Aprilia, with two extremely precise. Also on the motorbike podium were the Sienese Mirko Torsellini on the small Nova Proto and the Umbrian Filippo Ferretti, another very young man who won his first victory in the Italian Junior Superclimb Championship, at the wheel of the Wolf GB 08 Thunder. A trio of young people increasingly in the foreground. Ferretti gave a good show of character on the Wolf Monoposto prototype, and contained the attack of the expert from Catania Luca Caruso and the Brescian Virgilio Gosio.

With the success in the CN group, the host Francesco Leogrande on Osella PA 21 Honda was the first Apulian in the overall ranking, author of a decisive double. Bad luck for Alberto Scarafone from Lazio who, on Osella PA 21, while attempting a comeback in race 2, stopped near a chicane. A resounding success in group E1 for the Calabrian of Piloti per Passione Giuseppe Aragona, who gave a new show of strength at the wheel of the Volkswagen Golf MK7, with two exemplary climbs.

Also doing well was the reigning champion from Salerno Alessandro Tortora who finished in 2nd place on the Peugeot 106 turbo, ahead of the always aggressive South Tyrolean Harald Freitag, acrobatic on the Opel Kadett. A double in the GT group for the RO Racing Foggia native Lucio Peruggini on a Ferrari 488 Evo, particularly able to keep his concentration in race 1 when he encountered yellow flags on his route, but despite everything he equaled the category record. The Roman Marco Iacoangeli on the BMW Z4 came close but not too much, slowed down a bit by a contact with a chicane. Also on the podium was Francesco Montagna, the driver from Cisternino on the Lamborghini Huracan. Tiring solo for Marco Gramenzi from Teramo who achieved excellent times on the Alfa 4C MG 001 Furore. In TCR the Gretaracing native from Salerno Salvatore Tortora on a Peugeot 308, thanks to his skill and knowledge of the track, with which he contained the aggressive champion from Brescia Luca Tosini on the Audi RS3 LMS. In third place was Giovanni Angelini from Fasano who, on a Volkswagen Golf, scored full points in the DSG class.

Selina Prantl returns to success in her second championship race on her 20th birthday, now on the 2000 cc MINI of the Racing Start Plus group. In race 1, Giacomo Liuzzi from Fasano won on a MINI, in race 2 he was in obvious difficulty due to problems techniques. Second position for another driver from Fasano who does not disappoint himself like Francesco Savoia, who drove a Peugeot 106 and third was Roberto Megale from Reggio also in the 106 of Leone. Anna Maria Fumo won the Racing Start Cup group on the Peugeot 308 of the GT Racing family team, thanks to the time in race 1, which allowed her to contain the return of Andrea Palazzo from Fasano, winner on MINI in race 2. She did not leave space for the Racing Start RSTB group competition in the home race Oronzo Montanaro, the Fasano Corse driver who found a perfect understanding with the 2000 cc MINI. Never tamed and in 2nd place in the group was the young Calabrian Salvatore Mondino, who on the 1600 cc MINI held off the aggressive Cosimo Laghezza from Fasano on the Peugeot 308 by just 5 hundredths of a second in total.

One-two for Antonio Vassallo from Salerno on Renault Clio among the naturally aspirated engines of the RS.
