A few months ago she had ended her relationship with a man and, from that moment on, the life of a young woman would have been completely turned upside down by the persecutory behavior of her ex who, not accepting the separation, first bombarded her with telephone messages and then she began to be violent to the point of attempting to set fire to the house where she had moved.
The victim, resident in the Volterra area, courageously turned to the local carabinieri station, which took immediate action to request a precautionary measure, in an attempt to contain the aggressiveness of her ex-partner.
In the meantime, particular attention was immediately activated on the home and the places frequented by the woman, so as to be able to exclude any behavior detrimental to the safety of the offended party. Despite this, the ex – according to what was reconstructed by the police – continued to wander around the house, looking for contact with the woman.
The woman, increasingly afraid, decided to move to live with some acquaintances, but despite this, the ex would have entered the young woman’s house through the skylight, where the kitchen gas was turned on and the rooms were doused with petrol. The Army soldiers arrived at the house and managed – coldly – to turn off the gas, disconnect the electricity and open doors and windows, allowing the accumulated methane to flow out, waiting for the arrival of the Fire Brigade.
As a precaution, the carabinieri also evacuated the neighbors present in the neighboring houses and – having made some checks, after having made people and places safe – they decided to immediately go to the home of the man who was taken and arrested, for acts persecutors.
During the search, objects believed to be compatible with the crimes committed were found and seized, including two empty cans still smelling of petrol. The arrested person was then taken to the Pisa prison, at the disposal of the judicial authorities.
