Switzerland won theEurovision Song Contest 2024. The one who raised the coveted microphone to the sky, symbol of the victory of the performance, was Nemo, the country’s flagship artist. Her song, The Code, deserved a shower of votes from the juries of the participating countries. A pop song that is not at all obvious, which showed off influences that ranged from opera to hip hop, and a profound text that tells the story of difficulty accepting a non-binary sexual identity. An important and heartfelt theme that deservedly conquered Eurovision.

Nothing to do for Angelina Mango, but how much satisfaction this girl has given us. Young, feisty: on stage she gave everything and we felt it. Her name was among those favored to win and for a moment we returned to 2021, with the Maneskin victory with Shut up and good. Angelina, however, takes home the victory of a beautiful race, with the right ways and the right words. Thanks Angelina!

Nemo wins Eurovision 2024 with The Code

And so it was Switzerland that won over the European juries and public. Nemo with The Code literally defeated the competition with the votes of the juries of the competing countries, receiving a real shower of approvals. The 24-year-old welcomed the victory with uncontainable joy, launching a message of peace and unity as he raised the microphone, the trophy ofEurovision. 36 years had passed since Switzerland’s last victory atEurovision.

What about Nemo? Born in 1999, multi-instrumentalist, talented. Like many artists of his generation, he began by producing his own songs and then made his real debut with the EP. Clownfish. But it’s with the single Two who reached the great popularity in his country. From there began the rise of the young rapper who began collecting awards and recognitions: in 2018 he won four Swiss Music Awards for Best Swiss Song, Best Swiss Artist, Best Live Performance and Best Male Solo Artist.

His participation and victory take on a particular and important meaning in light of the fact that Nemo is the first openly non-binary artist to participate in the competition (as well as Bambie Thing, who was also competing).
