A canister explodes in the burning brushwood: firefighter ends up in hospital

MONTE GIBERTO – The firefighter intervened with his team to put out a fire in Monte Giberto. Among the brushwood there was a canister of those used for paints or solvents which, with the heat, exploded. The policeman was hit by the detonation and was left stunned. Immediately helped first by colleagues and then by 118, he was transported to hospital. Fortunately, his condition does not appear to be worrying

Moments of apprehension in the early afternoon of today for a firefighter hit by a canister explosion. Immediately rescued by colleagues and then taken to hospital, fortunately his condition is not serious.

It was around 1pm today when the firefighters of the Fermo provincial command were called to Monte Giberto due to bushes on fire. A routine intervention like many others for the firefighters who are constantly in action for 360-degree services. Suffice it to say that today alone they carried out ten interventions, and four only due to brush fires in the Fermo area. But the one in Monte Giberto could have had serious consequences. Fortunately, this was not the case. The firefighters arrived at the site of the report: a few tens of square meters of fire which they immediately contained before starting to put out the flames. But among the undergrowth there was a canister thrown there by some uncivilized person. A canister of those used to contain liquids, paints or solvents, which exploded due to the heat.

The explosion struck the firefighter who was stunned by the detonation. He was immediately helped by colleagues who immediately called 118. An ambulance reached the 115 men. So the medics treated the firefighter on site before transporting him to the hospital where he underwent further medical checks. The man did not suffer any injuries to his body but the state of confusion required investigations by the Murri doctors. An accident which, it was said, could have had much worse consequences, due to the fault of that uncivilized person who threw the canister, and who could have paid the price for it could have been a man from an institution, the firefighters, who every day and every night are working to guarantee the safety of all citizens, without ever backing down, with a spirit of self-sacrifice and professionalism.
