“A year has passed since the flood that devastated our lands and today – declares the president of the Province of Ravenna Michele De Pascale – the Meloni Government has not provided for compensation for damaged and destroyed furniture and household appliances.
Mayors and flood victims’ committees have been calling for this measure since July last year, Commissioner Figliuolo declared that he had officially asked President Meloniand many minor representatives of the Government have promised it over and over again.
Enough is enough, there’s no more time. The Government – continues De Pascale – honors the anniversary of the flood by issuing a decree that also allows movable property to be indemnified which for many flood-affected citizens represent a very significant part of the damage.
We can no longer joke about this issue nor is the systematic passing of the buck towards the Commissioner or local authorities valid, which has now become the rule of Government representatives. The families affected by the flood have waited too long and cannot wait any longer.”
