The state road 682 “Jonio Tirreno” is temporarily closed to traffic due to an accident that occurred inside the tunnelEliminate‘, at km 20, in the metropolitan city of Reggio Calabria.
The toll from the accident which occurred shortly after is one dead and one injured 9.30 this morning, inside the Limina gallery.
The victim is a man resident in Catania and died instantly, while the non-serious injury, a man resident in Gerace, was transported conscious to the nearest hospital. The dynamics are not known, which are being examined by investigators, but it would appear that one of the two cars careened and then collided with the one coming from the opposite side.
The Siderno Fire Brigade team coordinated by CR Salvatore Canale was on site and took steps to extract the deceased man from the car and secure the cars and the police for their duties.
Traffic is diverted onto alternative roads with on-site signaling. The teams present Anas and the police forces for the safe management of traffic and to allow the reopening of the section in the shortest possible time.
