Tadej Pogacar won the individual time trial Foligno-Perugia Tudor of 40.6 km, valid as the seventh stage of the Tour of Italy. The Slovenian (UAE Team Emirates), leader of the general classification, has preceded by the Italian Filippo Ganna (Ineos Grenadiers).
Amazing performance for the 25 year old from Komenda who signs one great comeback victory making the difference on the uphill stretch. The pink jersey finishes with the super time of 51.44 preceding the Italian champion by 17 seconds and thus consolidating the lead in the general. Also on the podium of the day was the American Magnus Sheffield (Ineos Grenadiers), third at 49 seconds. The British Geraint disappoints Thomas (Ineos Grenadiers), two minutes behind the winner. Sixth is the Italian Antonio Tiberi (Bahrain-Victorious), at 1.21.
For the Slovenian it is the second stage success in this edition of the Giro after the one obtained in Oropa. Ranked Pogacar rises to 2.36 seconds ahead of Colombian Daniel Martinez (Bora-Hansgrohe), Thomas slips to third place at 2.46. The eighth stage is scheduled for tomorrowthe Spoleto-Prati of Tivo of 152 km, with an uphill finish.
