Antonio Fuoco reigns with Ferrari in qualifying for the 6h of Spa-Francorchamps, third act of FIA World Endurance Championship 2024. The Rossa stands out against the clock with a full five tenths of a lead Porsche Penske Motorsport #5 and Cadillac Racing #2.
Ferrari without rivals in Q2
Ferrari dominates Q2 in Spa and takes pole in the Ardennes. Fire #50 he scoffed Matt Campbell #5 and Alex Lynn #2, in action with Porsche and Cadillac respectively. The Porsche 963 #99 Proton Competition of Julien Andlauer followed in fifth place ahead of the Porsche Hertz JOTA #12 of Callum Ilott and the official 963 of Kevin Estre.
The leader of FP2 and FP3 had to settle for a placing outside the Top5, the transalpine preceded Brendon Hartley (Toyota GR #8), Charles Milesi (Alpine #36), Robert Kubica (AF Corse Ferrari #83 ) and Robin Frinjs (WRT #20).
Ferrari #51 and Toyota #7 out of Q1
James Calado (Ferrari #51) and Kamui Kobayashi (Toyota GR #7) were eliminated in the first qualifying session of the 6h of Spa. The Briton and the Japanese clocked the 11th and 15th overall times in that order, both more than 5 tenths from the top.
Also out of Q2 were Alpine #36 (12th place), BMW #15 (13th), Peugeot #93 (14th), Peugeot #94 (16th), Lamborghini Iron Lynx #63 (17th), Hertz JOTA Porsche #38 (18th) and Isotta Fraschini #11 (19th).
Bovy on pole in LMGT3
Sarah Bovy (Iron Dames Lamborghini #85) scores the first pole of the season after the results in the European Le Mans Series on its home track. The Belgian made the difference with a gap of 337 thousandths compared to Josh Caygill (United Autosports McLaren #95) e Ahmad Al Harthy (WRT BMW #46).
Manthey EMA Porsche #91 and the second McLaren driven by United #59 finish in order ahead of Heart of Racing Aston #27, VISTA AF Corse Ferrari #54, TF Sport Corvette #81, Akkodis ASP Lexus #78 and Pure Rxcing Porsche #92 .
Day to forget for Alex Malykhin #92, out against the barriers following the Raidillon. The championship leader suffered no consequences after a violent impact in one of the most iconic points in the world.
