The phenomenon Tadej Pogačar confirms the Maglia Rosa at the finish line in Perugia and snatches the dream of winning an exciting time trial, seventh stage of the Giro d’Italia, from Filippo Ganna by just 17 seconds. The blue, great in the fast part from Foligno to the bridges of Perugia and stoic in the terrible climb of Casaglia which led the runners to the finish line on the acropolis, remained in the lead for the entire race. Until the last rider who started from Foligno, Maglia Rosa Pogačar, who kept a great pace even uphill, finishing at the finish line with a 17″ lead.
Epilogue of a beautiful time trial, in which the cyclists were asked to show the effort of the sprinters and the resistance of the climbers.
Enthusiasm from the start in Foligno to the arrival in Perugia, and in all the cities touched by the time trial, for the passage of the Giro d’Italia riders.
The arrival of the various runners was greeted by fans (also numerous foreign ones, with flags and placards to support their favorites) with chants of encouragement, colored hands and bells distributed in the stands. There were also numerous cheering children.
And when Filippo Ganna entered Piazza Italia, announced by the speaker, the public welcomed him with an ovation. More than deserved, given the extraordinary time trial raced, not losing ground even in the dreaded Casaglia climb.
Then the dream vanished in the race against the clock at the arrival of the Maglia Rosa, the Slovenian phenomenon Pogacar, nevertheless applauded by the public sportsmen paired at the finish line in Corso Vannucci.

A great spot for the whole of Umbria, with spectacular images, especially those from the helicopter, of the cities touched by the time trial: Foligno, Spello, Bastia, Assisi and Perugia, with the arrival in the sumptuous scenery of Corso Vannucci, for the pink colored occasion.
And tomorrow it will be repeated, with the departure from Spoleto for the stage that will cross the Valnerina.
