A 19-year-old from Biancavilla was arrested by the police for arson: he set fire to his neighbor’s car who had parked “with impunity” under his window.
The burning of the vintage car
The flames completely destroyed the victim’s Fiat 126, while the fire fortunately caused no damage to people or other things, apart from the blackened façade of the building. The timely intervention of the Fire Brigade allowed the area to be made safe quickly when, at 2am last night, the alarm raised by some passers-by was raised.
The arsonist’s confession
Thanks to the testimonies, suspicions were immediately directed towards the 19-year-old owner of the house with the window facing the “stall” occupied by the owner of the vintage Fiat. The alleged arsonist was not found at the house but he showed up at the barracks before dawn, admitting that he had filled a plastic bottle at a nearby petrol station and then set fire to the small car.
