Life lived and moments that remain imprinted in the mind accompanied by the colors and atmospheres that envelop them: this is the atmosphere that one breathes within the artistic universe of Marta Levreroin art ‘Naïve‘. Genoese singer-songwriter, inseparable from her ukulele, the artist always has her heart on her sleeve and a smile, ready to be given to the public who listens to her.

His first album, ‘Hardship‘, was published in 2023, and Naive defined it as a ‘musical paranza’: seven songs, about twenty minutes in total which enclose the singer’s world between French, jazz, country and beyond atmospheres.

How did your passion for music arise in you and how did you approach this world?

“The passion for music… well! My dad is a musician, he has always played and for better or worse there were always parties at home. I then approached the ukulele, which is the instrument I play, because there was a moment in which I was often in hospital and it was the instrument I carried with me the most and which I could play most easily. It was all by chance: then friends and friends of friends listened to my songs… and that’s how it happened. it was sturgeon nights at the Beautiful Looser, and then one thing led to another…”

If you had to identify some artists who have been references for you, not only on the national scene, who would they be?

“The first ones definitely Giorgio Gaber, Bruno Lauzi and Natalino Otto, I have always listened to them also thanks to my dad. Then I really like, among the current ones, Margherita Vicario with the first releases, I find her very good. Even today I like her, she has a very good repertoire but her first songs are the ones I liked the most. And then Judy Clark, an English singer that I listen to and like very much. They were my inspirations.”

If you had to define your style, what words would you use?

“My style… Random! Is that a good answer? Because it’s completely random (laughs). Other words would be too many.”

Are there any releases planned, are you working on new music?

“I’m expecting a baby, and I thought I’d take advantage of this break period to record a new EP of songs for children, or at least stories that are stories, and I talked to my producer about doing it… but I’m a procrastinator and I actually procrastinated, so I don’t I know if we’ll have time to release the project… But there will definitely be new releases soon.”

Plans for the summer? Will you play live?

“I don’t know yet, because I don’t know what my life will be like with a puppet, I still have to get used to the idea… If there are opportunities I will definitely take them, but for the moment I have nothing planned.”

You were recently one of the protagonists at Sofar. What was it like playing in front of people who don’t know who the artists are performing?

“For me it was a truly beautiful experience. Partly because I met musicians who I didn’t know before, who were really good, and then because I played in front of an audience that didn’t know me. I was immediately in panic, because then I make mistakes always during concerts: I suffer from attention deficit disorder and I always mess up, at least at the beginning as long as they know you it’s fine, I was afraid for those who had never seen me but it was nice, even those who weren’t there liked me because I liked me. he loves me. It was really very nice.”
