The XVII edition of the Est 105 Bari – Montenegro gets underway
From Thursday 16 Maydeparting from Bari, will be held XVII edition of the East 105 Bari-Montenegrothe international sailing event included in the program of the 2024 Offshore Championship organized by the University Sports Center of the Apulian capital in collaboration with the Portonovi Yacht Club, with the patronage of the Polytechnic of Bari and the University of Bari “Aldo Moro”.
Over the years this offshore sailing race has grown to become a spring classic for all sailors and enthusiasts. Est 105 was born in 2006 with the aim of promoting and enhancing the territories and culturally uniting the Adriatic countries
“We are proud to be able to organize this international race which is also part of the 16 regattas of the 2024 Italian offshore championship – said Antonio Prezioso, president of Cus Bari -. This is a historic event, now in its seventeenth edition and designed to increase competitive, sporting and cultural exchanges with the other side of the Adriatic”.
The start of the regatta is set for 11am on Thursday from the bend overlooking the Basilica of San Nicola, after which the boats will sail up to the clearance buoy located in front of the Torre Quetta beach and then turn eastwards with a free course until the coast of Montenegro, 105 nautical miles away. The crossing of the Adriatic Sea will culminate on May 17th and 18th in the Portonovi Yacht Club.
More details on the route, the number of participants and the progress of the race will be communicated at the presentation press conference which will be held on Tuesday 14 May, at 10am, in the Presidency Room of Cus Bari. The event will be attended by, among others, the president of the Cus Antonio Prezioso and the president of the VIII Fiv zone Alberto La Tegola.
