Costa Crociere is hiring 45 professionals in Fvg

Receptionists, cruise sales consultants And lighting, sound and video technicians: these are the new professional figures sought after in Friuli Venezia Giulia from Costa Crociere to work on board his ships.

The available places are 45 in total, or 15 for each of the three profiles searched for. Suitable candidates will be selected with the support of the Employment Centers of the Autonomous Region of Friuli Venezia Giulia and sent to a period of free training to acquire the specific skills and licenses necessary for navigation.

Interested parties can apply by May 22nd on the regional portal https://offertelavoro.regione.fvg.it/. The CVs received will be evaluated by the pre-selectors of the Employment Center and candidates in possession of the required requirements will be able to participate in the selections, which will be divided into three different sections: written linguistic tests are scheduled for 29 May, in online mode, to which oral language tests will follow, again in online mode; In-person interviews and practical tests are scheduled for 5 and 6 June in Trieste.

The candidates who pass the selections will be admitted to the free training courses organized by the Region in collaboration with Enaip Fvg. The courses, lasting between 410 and the 478 hours, will provide the skills and competences required by the three different roles. Part of the training will take place at accredited bodies outside the region for the issuing of compulsory licenses to work on board ships. Once the training phase has been completed, the company will evaluate the hiring, which includes fixed-term maritime CNL contracts of 4/6 months, which can be extended.The reception staff (hospitality operators) are responsible for welcoming and assisting guests at the receptions of Costa ships. Cruise sales consultants (future cruise consultants) provide advice and support to guests on board for the purchase of future cruises. Light, Sound & Video Technicians are the specialists who manage the technical part of entertainment on board ships.

For all three profiles sought, a qualification equal to at least a secondary school diploma or at least a four-year professional diploma is required, and knowledge of the English language at a level no lower than A2; for reception staff and cruise sales consultants, knowledge of the English language at a level no lower than B1 is required, and knowledge of at least a second foreign language between French, German and Spanish, at a level no lower than B1. To apply you must also be unemployed and resident or domiciled in Friuli Venezia Giulia.

The regional councilor for work commenting on the initiative he argued that “Friuli Venezia Giulia continues to invest with conviction in training, focusing on high quality courses capable of best preparing the various professional figures required by the market. For the regional administration, investing in training to create employment means guaranteeing quality courses and, for companies like Costa Crociere that need to hire workers with adequate preparation and skills tailored to specific needs. The collaboration between the Employment Centers and Costa Crociere, together with which the regional Administration co-planned the recruiting day and the training course, is a practice increasingly requested by the regional productive fabric which now recognizes the Public Service as an essential interlocutor in definition of one’s own employment paths. The initiative consolidates a collaboration that has already been active for years which has led to the training of hundreds of people in the various courses carried out for entertainers, receptionists, sound, light and video technicians, photographers, excursion staff and chefs.”

In particular, the collaboration with the Friuli Venezia Giulia Region has always been very fruitful: since 2017, thanks to the winning formula of free training courses aimed at hiring, around 350 people have been trained, of which around 97% have been hired to work on board Costa ships”.
