The adventure ends on a high note, with a big party Long live Rai2. The morning show of Fiorellowhich in two seasons has changed the coordinates of television schedules and forced, in a certain sense, the public to change their habits, ends with the last episode on May 10th. Accompanied by Fabrizio Biggio, Mauro Casciari and the entire cast of the show, Rosario Fiorello announced last April that this would be the last week of the program and for the closing he chose two important guests as Jovanotti and Amadeusthe first returning to TV after the bad cycling injury that forced him to stop for a long time, the second ready to move to NOVE and one of his last live appearances on Rai.

Last guest of the last episode of Viva Rai2

“We are also contacting an Italian rock star”Fiorello had added during the announcement of the last appointment with his program and in fact the surprise came with the evocative performance of Ultimo to give further nuance to this last appointment of the program which is drawing to a close after having given great satisfaction to the network with record peaks in audience figures.

Fiorello and farewell to Viva Rai2

The climate of the last episode is tangible and there are no longer any doubts that this will be the case, as Fiorello points out: “It was a beautiful story, perhaps unrepeatable, one of those that doesn’t happen on the drawing board because no one would have imagined it would come out like this.” The live broadcast begins with a greeting to Stephen Colettapresent on the glass: “He wanted Viva Rai2! more than anyone, he believed in Viva Rai2! on Rai2”. In front of dozens of journalists, the episode continued with Fiorello’s premise: “This is a last episode and the last episodes always turn out badly because you loosen up a bit.” Also present Giorgia Cardinaletti: “You blocked Rome! It took us more than half an hour to get here. You blocked Rome, I’m all for you.” Also among the guests representing Tg2 Manuela Moreno.

The last time Amadeus was broadcast live on Rai with Fiorello: “We got on the bus, it was number nine”

The traffic light gag was created this year directly by Fiorello and Amadeus. The two even managed to get on a bus: “You beat the Rich and Poor who got on a motorbike, you got on a bus”, comments Biggio. In the next block, Amadeus joins Fiorello in the glass. The joke on the bus: “We went up to number 9.”

The musical guest, as anticipated, was Ultimo who sang the song “Altrove” from the center of the pitch of the Olympic Stadium. Having reached the singer-songwriter, Fiorello sings with him the song “Albachiara” by Vasco Rossi. Upon returning from lockdown, Fiorello is unable to return to the glass so it is Amadeus who takes time for a moment but there is no time to comment on one of the ‘fake news’ of the event which Fiorello immediately manages to get to: “I need some publicity.” And Amadeus replies: “It doesn’t matter, there’s the golden minute.”

The end of the episode sees the arrival of Jovanotti. Starting from directing he arrives at glass doing parkour (obviously it’s a choreography). The singer shows himself on crutches: “I’d like to go back on tour, we need another month like this and then maybe I’ll make it. Spring 2025 I’ll go back on tour if it goes well, that’s the goal.” The closure is with the hymn of hymns, the song of songs: Sky blue.

Hundreds of people for the last episode of Viva Rai2

It’s dawn, but there are hundreds of people waiting at the Foro Italico. A deejay set that warms up the audience and before the start of the episode Fiorello rehearses with Jovanotti and Amadeus the number that will close this last episode. A “Azzurro” sung with the artist and an inevitable crutch after the bad injury. Then Amadeus arrives in a Cadillac to take them away. An ending that promises to be inevitably melancholic and in fact Luca Tommassini, choreographer of these two editions, describes this television madness thus: “If we stop to think, we start to cry”.

Fiorello’s future after Viva Rai2

The question mark after this appointment remains in relation to Fiorello’s future. After the end of this experience, which like all the most recent ones for him ends before the success runs out, Fiorello clearly spoke of a period of rest, but at the same time he hinted that his television future will be in Rai. The point is to understand when it will be and what type. “Feeling free and not belonging to a company” he had said in a recent statement regarding alleged rumors of farewell, suggesting that he was tied to projects more than contracts. And what could Fiorello’s next project be like? The hypothesis is that, after a break, he may decide to move to another anomalous band and, after the morning, try to keep the public awake in the late evening, once again carving out a space for himself in his own protected oasis from which to disrupt television standards.

Fiorello’s message

Long live Rai2! ended with a countdown that showed a frame from each episode of the second season of Viva Rai2! and with Fiorello’s message confirming the end of this project: “Thanks everyone, see you at the next idea. Fiorello”.
