THEY FLY. “Era a busy guy for your community. It’s a tragedy for everyone.” Maria Alessandra Furlinimayor of They flylearned in the very early hours of this morning of the dramatic accident that occurred during the night in Rovereto where the 32 year old firefighter, Federico Volani.
A terrible accident occurred at midnight. The exact dynamics of what happened are being investigated by the police. From an initial reconstruction, the 32-year-old first ended up with the motorbike against a truck and then crashed into the guardrail where the motorbike caught fire.
The alarm was immediately raised and they rushed to the scene the Rovereto firefighters who put out the flames and made the area safe. Immediately afterwards the medical staff tried to save the boy’s life. The injuries sustained, however, proved to be too serious and Federico Volani died on the spot.
“I often met him in the barracks” explains the mayor of Volano. “For everyone these are truly dramatic hours. Federico was a boy committed to the fire brigade but also to helping his entire community. In this moment of pain we cling to the family.”
The commander of the Volano fire brigade, where Federico had been working since he was 18, was also in disbelief at the tragedy. “We still have to realize what happened” he explained to the Dolomiti in the early hours of this morning.
