A tragic road accident that occurred in Clusone, in the province of Bergamo, cost the life of an eight-year-old girl; his brother – one year older – was seriously injured, suffering a fractured femur. Three other people – all adults – were injured, two seriously. Among these is the grandmother of the two children.
The accident occurred between two cars and occurred on the former state road 671, in Clusone, near San Lorenzo di Rovetta.
Two helicopters from Brescia and Sondrio, four ambulances and the fire brigade from Clusone and Gazzaniga immediately responded to the scene.
According to an initial reconstruction, the two children were traveling on board a Seat Ibiza driven by the 60-year-old woman, she was also seriously injured.
The small car in which they were traveling would have collided head-on with another car, a BMW traveling in the opposite direction and whose occupants, a 47 year old man and a 60 year old womanwere seriously injured.
Unfortunately, there was nothing that could be done for the little girl: she died instantly. It is now the Carabinieri of the local company who will have to clarify the dynamics and responsibilities of what happened. The road remained closed almost all night and then reopened to traffic. The cause of the collision could have been a distraction or a problem linked to the rain that fell throughout the area last night.
