WE RECEIVE AND PUBLISH – Regarding the articles published on 05.08.2024 in the press, regarding the death of a 7-month-old infant at the Fornaroli Hospital in Magenta, the sequence of events relating to the case immediately after the access to the aforementioned hospital facility.

We would also like to point out that, again in light of what was reported in the press, the infant was never subjected to surgery for the removal of adenoids the week before his death or any other type of operation, at the Magenta Hospital in particular. , nor in other hospitals of the West Milanese Asst. On Monday 6 May, mid-morning, the Magenta ED team was alerted by the dispatch from Abbiategrasso of an infant suffering from a “neurological pathology in cardiorespiratory arrest” which occurred at home and with no response to prolonged resuscitation manoeuvres.

The child arrives at the emergency room in an ambulance accompanied by a 118 team. It is reported by the 118 healthcare staff that the child was found by his parents in an unconscious state in the cot with ineffective respiratory activity. The conditions upon arrival already showed an extremely critical picture, however the resuscitation maneuvers were prolonged in order to highlight possible reversible causes of the cardiac arrest, which were effectively excluded. At the end of this it was only possible to note the exitus, providing assistance to the family at this point.
