Tragedy in the night in via di Vaccoli in Lucca. A 63-year-old woman was found dead in the fire in her home that broke out around 3 am, perhaps due to the fumes released by the fire.
The flames engulfed the house and within minutes the firefighters rushed to the scene and also alerted 118, for fear that there was someone inside. Unfortunately, this suspicion was confirmed shortly after when the medical vehicle and ambulance from the Misericordia di Lucca arrived on the scene.
Unfortunately a woman in her 60s was found dead, perhaps due to intoxication. The body, recovered by the firefighters, was transferred to the Campo di Marte morgue at the disposal of the prosecutor’s office. Police officers arrived on site to investigate the case. At the moment, investigators hypothesize that the tragedy occurred due to accidental causes, but investigations continue to establish the exact dynamics of the tragedy.
According to initial findings, the woman’s body was not touched by the flames but she was found lifeless by the first rescuers who managed to reach her. Unfortunately, it was too late.
