Neglect and record temperatures. Already fires in industrial area – MolfettaLive.it

She was tall, ungroomed, unkempt, dry. Adding to the already high temperatures for just being in the spring.
And this is how the fires have already started in the industrial area, in Molfetta.

In recent days the entire area below the Strada Vicinale Padula bridge went up in flames: the intervention of the Fire Brigade, whose barracks are a few hundred meters away, contained the extent of the event given that the fire could have expanded and reached both the road leading to the large shopping centers and the Roma camp close to the fruit and vegetable market. A blanket of black smoke invaded the area but the worst was quickly averted.

Other similar phenomena, scattered throughout the area, would however now be taking place with a certain frequency.

In the next few days, as usual, the Municipality will issue Mayor Tommaso Minervini’s ordinance which will oblige everyone, private or otherwise, to intervene in the maintenance of their green areas in order to avoid events that could pose risks to public and private safety. Heavy fines also apply to violators.
As always, it remains to be understood whether a measure is needed to change a well-established custom or whether a maintenance planning action is sufficient. Which applies to everyone, citizens and the Municipality.
