First the devastating frontal impact, then the sirens of the ambulances and emergency vehicles. The toll of the accident that occurred on the provincial road 109 between Busto Garolfo and Parabiago on the morning of Thursday 9 May is tragic. In the accident, a crash involving a truck, a van and a car, Riccardo Gedruschi lost his life, while two other people were injured, one seriously.

It all happened a few minutes before 11.30 am along Viale Lombardia, near Ravello (a hamlet of Parabiago). The exact dynamics of the accident are being examined by the local police of Parabiago, on site for investigations, but according to an initial reconstruction it seems that the van, a Fiat Scudo, was proceeding towards Parabiago followed by the car (a Ds7), while the pickup truck, an Isuzu, in the opposite direction (towards Busto Garolfo). For reasons yet to be ascertained, a head-on collision occurred between the two vehicles.

The crash left no escape for the driver of the van, who died instantly. The passenger of the Fiat Scudo, however, suffered head and abdominal trauma and was accompanied in code red to the Niguarda emergency room, while the man driving the truck was pulled out by the firefighters and accompanied in code yellow to the Varese hospital due to trauma to the pelvis and leg. Finally, the driver of the car was unharmed: he was assessed on site by the 118 staff, but refused treatment.

The exact dynamics of the accident are being examined by the local police of Parabiago, who are on site to investigate. There are no closed-circuit cameras at the scene of the accident (the only electronic eyes present record the license plates of vehicles in transit).
