Piacenza, 9 May 2024 – Tragic accident this morning on A21, at the entrance ofNure service stationnear Piacenza (video). A truck driver lost his life and seven more people remained intoxicated. The crash occurred around 7.30 am at the entrance to the service area, heading south. The vehicle, loaded with paracetic acidhit a car with three people on board.

Four patrols from the Cremona Polstrada arrived on site to ascertain the dynamics of the accident with commander Ettore Guidone. The video surveillance images from the cameras present in the service area and the braking marks left on the road surface are being examined.

The victim is a 52-year-old Italian, resident in the province of Pavia, he was driving a truck from a company in Turin

The intoxicated
There are seven people in total, two men and five women, but none of their lives are in danger. Three of them were in the car hit by the truck, while the other 4 had helped them get out of the passenger compartment. They were all transported to Piacenza hospital.

Rescue in action
118 vehicles, the air ambulance and the fire brigade teams were on site. The service area was closed by the Cremona traffic police. The Piacenza 118 medical car, a Red Cross ambulance and one from the White Cross were immediately on site. He was sent flying the Parma air ambulance which flew over the area and then landed in Autogrill.

The truck driver died instantly
The driver of the truck died instantly, unfortunately for him, despite the timely rescue efforts, there was nothing that could be done.
