La Russa quotes Mattarella, truth is the primary objective of democracy – “Searching for the truth is always a primary objective of democracy. The truth is inseparable from freedom. Many truths have been reconstructed and conquered, others are not yet completely clarified or have remained obscure. We will not give up searching for them with the tools of the law and with a commitment that must be choral”. These are the words of the Head of State Sergio Mattarella who quotes the President of the Senate Ignazio La Russa in his speech to celebrate the victims of terrorism in the Chamber of Palazzo Madama. “His words – comments La Russa – show all of us the main path to follow. The truth: this is the first and most important moral obligation we have towards many innocent lives and those who sacrificed themselves to defend democracy and the Republic. They are all victims of a hatred that must never return.” “I cannot fail to also remember how political hatred, of whatever colour, has also led to the death of many young people whose only fault was that of believing in certain values and who were unable to accept that they could not claim their beliefs”, continues La Russa.
