The ceremony in honor of the victims of terrorism ended in the Senate Hall with the notes of the European anthem sung by the choir of students from the Righi and Visconti high schools in Rome. In addition to the presidents of the Chambers, Ignazio La Russa and Lorenzo Fontana, some family members of the victims spoke: senator Alfredo Bazoli, Franco Sirotti, Piero Mazzola, Caterina Manzo and Roberto Della Rocca. A Rai video was also shown recalling the various episodes of terrorism recalled in the speeches of the family members. And there was the delivery of plaques to the 3 winning schools of the “Tracce di Memoria 2023-2024” competition.

The truth: this is the first and most important moral obligation we have towards many innocent lives and those who sacrificed themselves to defend democracy and the Republic. They are all victims of a hatred that must never return.” “I cannot fail to also remember how political hatred, of whatever colour, has also led to the death of many young people whose only fault was that of believing in certain values and who were unable to accept that they could not claim their beliefs”, continues La Russa.
