Artiera, the “handmade” fair, returns at the weekend

Artiera at the Udine Fair from 10th to 12th May.

AND considered the “know-how” fairan event designed for enhance and promote those products that are the fruit of the ingenuity, creativity and manual skill of artisans: the dates to mark on the calendar are those of Friday 10th, Saturday 11th and Sunday 12th Maywhen the pavilions of the Udine Fair will host the second edition of “Artiera – Crafts at the fair”.

Beyond 100 exhibitors they will give life to workshops, events and meeting opportunities which will have a common thread six product categories: clothing, jewellery, home and furnishings, health and well-being, food and drink, art and leisure.

The doors of pavilion 6 will open on Friday at 9amon Saturdays and Sundays at 10am, to remain open to visitors until 10pm. As already mentioned, there will be numerous events organised, from Udine Craft Week, with the presentation of the artefacts created by high school students (Friday at 11.30) a Ce biel frico, cooking challenge suitable for everyone (always Fridays from 3.30pm). The actual ribbon cutting is set for 5pm on Friday 10 May, with the intervention of the regional and city authorities. For the whole day and until the end of the event, however, there will be different entertainment and activities for the little ones inside and outside the pavilion.

The second day of Artiera will be no different, with one cooking demonstration dedicated to pizzathe performance ofMusical Academy of Udine, the demonstration of how it can be done create with Scus (organized by the Pro Loco of Reana del Rojale) and the presentation of the book “La forza per Rinascere” by Cascia Galoppi. The day will close on Saturday, at 6.30 pm, with “100 shades of fashion”, the most awaited event for give space to clothing and jewelery creations made by the craftsmen, and the appointment with Friulian mojito and Caribbean dances in collaboration with the New Life Academy dance school and Fiera Break Udine.

On Sunday they can discover the secrets of craft beer cooked and of chef profession (with a focus on “gluten-free” professionals), and let loose at rhythm of country music with the dance schools “Country kete passa”, “CountrYntimamente” and “Country Eagles Pordenone”. For all three days outside the pavilion there will be a wide choice of kiosks with typical local specialities.

In the basement of the former Fair.

Among the new features of this edition of Artiera, Saturday at 11.30am, at the end of a conference dedicated to gender gap in the workplacethere will be a tour to discover the old Udine cotton mill, then replaced by the fair body. Led by Renzo Zuliani, it will be possible visit the underground of the former cotton mill, where it is still possible admire the remains of the work environments and machinery of one of the most important industrial realities of Udine between the end of the nineteenth century and the beginning of the twentieth century. The fair is organized by AdaLab with the collaboration of Campus Friuli and with the patronage of the Fvg Region, the Pordenone and Udine Chamber of Commerce, Confartigianato Imprese Udine and the Municipalities of Udine and Martignacco.
