A road accident made it necessary this afternoon to temporarily establish an alternating one-way system along Via dei Laghi, the regional road that connects Ciampino to Velletri. The episode occurred around 3pm at kilometer 18,600, in the Veliterno area, not far from the former San Raffaele clinic.
The vehicle involved, a Volkswagen T-Roc with only the driver on board, skidded and crashed into a guardrail in an accident that turned out to be autonomous. Fortunately, the driver was only slightly injured and did not suffer serious consequences, despite being assisted by the 118 paramedics.
The accident required the intervention of a Local Police patrol, which carried out investigations to determine the dynamics of the incident. In support, additional patrols were deployed to regulate traffic and reduce inconvenience for motorists.
The stretch affected by the accident was temporarily managed with an alternating one-way system to allow rescue operations, surveys and the removal of the damaged vehicle. Thanks to the effective coordination of the police, traffic was kept under control and the inconveniences, in terms of traffic, were minimised.
Via dei Laghi was reopened to traffic in both directions after the removal of the vehicle and the safety of the section affected by the accident.
In the morning, again in Velletri, another one car accident it occurred at the intersection between via Lata and via del Cigliolo, injuring a cyclist who was involved in the accident. Overall it was an intense day for the police, in particular the Local Police of Veliterna, given that there were also other accidents, fortunately not serious.
