Acqui Terme – “War Scenarios in the Middle East” meeting with the Carabinieri Army Corps General Pietro Pistolese

On Saturday 4 May, at 5pm, an extremely important and timely meeting entitled “War Scenarios in the Middle East” will be held at the Civic Library of Acqui Terme.

The speaker will be the Army Corps General of the Carabinieri, Pietro Pistolese, former Commander of numerous international peacekeeping missions. His vast experience, which includes prominent positions as Commander of the Carabinieri Contingent in the Middle East (1994 1997), Security Advisor of the EU Mission for the elections of the President and the Council of Palestinian National Autonomy in 1996, Commander of the European peacekeeping mission EUBAM in Gaza (2005 2008), will offer a unique perspective to understand the complexity of conflicts in this tumultuous region.

The meeting aims to explore the many facets of the Middle Eastern conflict: from its historical roots to the economic, social and humanitarian implications that derive from it. Through an in-depth analysis, we will try to retrace past attempts to resolve the conflict and identify the causes of their failure, in order to outline possible future prospects.

During the meeting, the book “In flight over Versailles – The Peace Conference, a legacy of conflicts” will be presented, which will provide the main themes under discussion and illustrate the still relevant impacts on the geopolitical balance derived from the Peace Conference conclusion of the First World War.

The event is organized by the Civic Library of Acqui Terme in collaboration with Piero Spotti’s Libreria Terme and sees the participation of the National Carabinieri Association of Acqui Terme, as part of the series of meetings dedicated to the Carabinieri.
