Following the controversies involving Helldivers 2 in recent days, PlayStation has officially declared that in Ghost of Tsushima you will need a PSN account on PC to access the online features of the title. Although this was communicated in advance of its release date, there was a big news in the last few hours.
According to the latest information appearing online, some retailers have removed Ghost of Tsushima Director’s Cut from stores in many countries where there is a lack of support for the PSN. It all started from a Reddit user who, with a post on the well-known platform, testified to the removal of the game from a digital game resale platform. The motivation? Precisely the necessary use of a PlayStation Network account to access the features of the online mode.
There have not yet been any official communications from Sucker Punch or PlayStation but, in light of what happened with some retailers and with Helldivers 2, it cannot be ruled out that Sony itself could intervene by removing the game from the stores of unsupported countries from the PSN. The fact is, at least for the moment, that the first refunds have already been issued for Ghost of Tsushima Director’s Cut on PC from the retailer of the news source.
