Third and smiling
Despite the third best time in qualifying, behind teammate Oscar Piastri (2nd) and Max Verstappen once again in pole position thanks to a brilliant lap, Lando Norris he appeared anything but regretful or disappointed in the press conference after Q3 in Imola. The Englishman from McLaren is indeed quite satisfied to have put both Ferraris behind himin a challenge with a ‘vintage’ flavor for the role of anti-Red Bull.
MCL38 excellent
In particular, Norris complimented the team on theireffectiveness of the updates brought to Miami and confirmed on Italian soil, sufficient to resist Ferrari’s assault: “The car was excellent all weekend, right from FP1 – declared the winner of the last GP – the potential was there, but it’s a very difficult track to do everything well on. I think the team did very well today.”.
Old style Imola
Finally, the representative of the Woking team focused on the ‘vintage’ flavor of Imolaunderlining the beauty of an old-fashioned route, characterized by gravel escape routes: “The gravel? When there were asphalt escape routes they told us it was impossible to go back, and now we have done so. I’m not a Sprint fan, but with just one FP1 session it would be even more difficult to find the limit.”he concluded.
