ROME – One place for three teams. The race to Champions League comes to life, with Inter, Milan, Bologna and Juventus already qualified. Thanks to Atalanta’s success over Roma, Bologna and Juventus arithmetically find access to the next Super Champions: fifth place remains to be assigned, currently the prerogative of the team coached by Gasperini. The head-to-head for fifth place also involves the two Roman teams: Roma have three points less than the Nerazzurri, Lazio are four points behind. If Atalanta finished in fifth place – also winning the Europa League – the Italian teams would have one more place available, and the sixth in the standings would also go to play in the Champions League.

At the moment Gasperini’s team occupies fifth place, and has played one game less than its rivals; the recovery with Fiorentina scheduled for next June 2nd the direct competitors certainly don’t like it. The success achieved against Roma puts the Nerazzurri in pole position as regards fifth place: the calendar of the Bergamo team includes Lecce-Atalanta (37th matchday), Atalanta-Turin (38th matchday) and the recovery against Fiorentina.
