For about a month, since last April 15th, the tax authorities have been on the heels of Camila Giorgi, the 32-year-old tennis player who confirmed her withdrawal from the WTA circuit via social media, pointing out however that the news concerning her is for matters that are anything but sporting they are “fake”.
At the moment, however, no trace of her has been lost, she could be in the USA, but the tax assessments are moving quickly so much so that “the Revenue Agency has presented a deed of seizure against third parties to Federtennis” because Giorgi owes 464 thousand euros to the tax authorities for taxes don’t pay.

The foreclosure formalized by the Revenue does not exclude, in fact, that the Italian tennis player’s debt to the treasury could be even greater.
The seized amount simply represents the tax bill sent to Fitp. The federation is involved in the issue because it pays prizes and appearance fees in the national team to the athletes. It will therefore have to turn over to the Revenue Agency any premiums not paid to Giorgi since the foreclosure deed, i.e. from July 2023, or future ones which, however, are not conceivable now given that Giorgi has withdrawn.
On her social profile the tennis player, who would have earned around 6 million euros in her career, thanked the fans who followed her during her suddenly interrupted career. “I am so grateful for your wonderful love and support for so many years. I cherish all the beautiful memories,” she wrote on Instagram before adding that “there have been many inaccurate rumors about my future plans, so I can’t wait to provide learn more about exciting opportunities ahead. It’s a joy to share my life with you and let’s continue this journey together.”
Meanwhile in Calenzano, a town in the province of Florence where she lived with her family, there has been no trace of her for days. “It’s not like we’ve ever seen her much here, it’s always been rare to see her around the town – mayor Riccardo Prestini cuts it short -. Her commitments have always taken her far. I too will have her as mayor in five years seen perhaps twice. Once for a recognition that we gave her in the Municipality, another time she came to the municipality for a matter, as a citizen, in 2023. Formally she is still our resident”. Camila’s family moved to the industrial municipality between Florence and Prato for work reasons. “As far as we know they have activities in the fast fashion and clothing sector – adds the mayor -. We all know that when Camila was younger she also trained in a sports center in the area, then with professionalism she left it. The needs of the sport practiced at high levels led her to choose other training methods, in addition to traveling from one part of the world to another to play tournaments”. For days there has been no movement in the house, a two-storey house in an area of recent construction. The neighbors have the feeling that the parents have also left, but no one would swear to it. A detail also confirms this hypothesis: the letterbox door was open, containing flyers and papers. Nobody put it back.
