Formula 1, everything changes due to the disqualification: the teams involved welcomed the news with great amazement

The Formula 1 world championship has already come to life, but Max Verstappen he doesn’t seem to want to give up. Despite a rather critical situation within the Red Bull team, the Dutch driver continues to dominate. His lead in the rankings is not in question and, although Ferrari and McLaren have made important steps forward, they should have no problem bringing home a fourth consecutive world title.

In the last few hours some news coming from the paddock has been causing discussion, according to which the ranking could be upset by several disqualifications. Right now, Verstappen is firmly in command, but in the coming weeks everything could be turned upside down. Here’s what’s new regarding the Formula 1 rankings and which pilots are most at risk.

F1: not only Magnussen, Perez and Alonso also at risk of disqualification

Kevin Magnussen he received several penalties during the Miami Grand Prix, especially during the sprint race. The Haas driver hindered Lewis Hamilton several times and, for this reason, received a twenty-second penalty which prevented him from reaching the points. F1 drivers have a license, obtained through an exam. This license is a sort of points-based licenceeach penalty reduces the number of points available to the driver.

Magnussen he lost a lot of points in Miami, but he’s not the only one who has to worry. Also Sergio Perez he is at risk because he has already lost eight points from his driving licence. Once all the points have been cleared, the driver is forced to miss a grand prix. Perez is very close to this penaltyexactly as Fernando Alonso. The Spanish Aston Martin driver has only six points on his license and could receive a one-race ban as early as this season.

Aston Martin’s other driver, Lance Stroll, is also at risk of receiving a one-race ban as he only has seven points left on his licence. The fourth driver who has had many penalties in the last two years is Sargeant, who drives Williams. If they continue to receive fines, these drivers could have their license points wiped out and be forced to miss a race by the end of the 2024 season.
