MotoGP: Sprint goes to Martin, ahead of Marquez and Vinales. Bagnaia retreat – MotoriNoLimits

The Tissot Sprint of the GP of France offers different moods and feedback for the protagonists of the MotoGP world championship. To Jorge Martin’s victory, started from pole on the GP24 of the Prima Pramac Racing team, accompanied by the fall a few laps from the end of Marco Bezzecchi (Pertamina Enduro VR46 Racing Team), the only one who after the initial skirmishes seemed to be able to catch up with the Spaniard on the run. The Italian fell to the ground on the tenth lap, when the leader already seemed uncatchable and Marc Marquez, from behind, was starting to apply pressure, getting ever closer.

The Spaniard astride the GP23 of the Gresini Racing MotoGP team, starting from the 13th spot on the grid, was the author of a great comeback: sixth at the first chicane, at the end of the first lap he was already fourth. He then took advantage of a double long lap penalty inflicted on Aleix Espargaro (Aprilia Racing), who later finished fifth, for jumping the start. The #93 finished second ahead of Maverick Vinales, who in the final laps managed to respond to a rising Enea Bastianini in the colors of the Ducati Lenovo Team. After taking second place in the morning’s qualifying, Francesca Bagnaia immediately took the lead in the Sprint. fell to 14th position and, on the second lap, even more delayed, he left the track and had to retire.

In the race for the title the number 1 gives up second position to Bastianini, while Martin, author of a race entirely in the lead which saw him make the decisive break after the halfway point of the 13 scheduled laps, consolidates his position at the top with an advantage by 28 points. For him, the French one is the third Sprint won of the year, the twelfth also considering last season.
