On July 1, 2020 we announced the beginning of a new era, the Massimo Barbolini era. 1409 days later, but above all two trophies and numerous successes later, the most exciting cycle in the history of our club ends, with a dutiful farewell to the coach who took us to the peaks of national and international volleyball.
At the helm of Savino Del Bene Volley for four seasons, the coach born in Modena has collected a total of 175 benches, 130 victories and 45 defeatsfor a success rate of 74.29%numbers that make Barbolini the longest-serving and most successful coach in the history of our club.
Some of the best moments in the annals of our club are linked precisely to Massimo Barbolini who, in 2020-2021, brought our club back to participating in a European cup, qualifying the team for the CEV Challenge Cup. A cup then won the following season and which represented the first international trophy won by our club.
After having raised the third European cup in order of importance to the sky, in 2022-2023 Barbolini led the team to another continental success, this time more prestigious, given that his Savino Del Bene Volley triumphed in the CEV Cupwinning the title in the double final against the Romanian Alba Blaj.
Also in the same year, Barbolini had the merit of leading the team to excellent results also in the championship and thanks to the second place at the end of the regular season, Savino Del Bene Volley was able to return to play the CEV Champions Leaguea competition in which our company had not participated since the 2020-2021 year.
Barbolini was a record-breaking and first-time coach for Savino Del Bene Volley. Last year he closed the regular season by leading his team to its maximum number of points and successes in Serie A1, recording 21 victories And 63 points. A record retouched in the season just ended, in 2023-2024 Savino Del Bene Volley concluded the regular season again with 63 pointsbut with 22 wins. Then it arrived to embellish the last season the first historic participation in the Scudetto Final for Savino Del Bene Volleywith our team reaching the final chapter of the season, playing the final for the Italian title in the series against Conegliano.
After years of satisfaction and goals achieved, the relationship between the company ends today Savino Del Bene Volleyball And coach Massimo Barbolini. The society wants to thank the coach for the professionalism and commitment shown in these four seasons and is grateful to him for the growth that, with his competence and experience, he has guaranteed to our club.
