Asp Civitavecchia could still be master of its own destiny. At 6pm at the Palazzetto Insolera – Tamagnini the rossoblu will face Green Volley on the last day of the Serie C championship, a team mathematically in fifth place and already with their sights set on the playoffs.
The rossoblu are fourth to last in group B with 22 points and Asd Lupi Di Marte third to last with 21 points: if Asp Civitavecchia were to lose the match it would still be necessary to wait for the result of Sunday’s match between Volley Cali Roma and Asd Lupi Di Marte for the definitive ranking as well as if the Civitavecchiesi were to win in the fifth set obtaining two points and not three. In the event of a victory with three points, the mathematics would arrive which would immediately establish survival, but the coach of Asp Civitavecchia Giovanni Guidozzi really doesn’t want to hear about calculations: «We are maintaining the trend of the last few weeks, we don’t look at the opponents, we think for we. We’re going to win and play the best game possible.”
It will be a very important weekend for local volleyball, with Asd Pallavolo Civitavecchia needing to honor 60 years of activity by maintaining the C series at all costs.
The men’s Serie C championship will also end over the weekend with Etruria Volleyh, already safe, playing at the Palazzetto Comunale in Tuscania on Saturday at 4.30pm against Athlon Ostia Volley.
