AIDO (Italian Association of Organ Tissue and Cell Donors) Gallipoli has organized two days dedicated to giving on Friday 10th and Saturday 11th May.

Friday 10 May at 7.00 pm in the T. Schipa Theater there will be a meeting with the local community entitled “The right vision for a YES to the gift” entrepreneurship, Technology, Resilience and sport meet citizens.

In line with what was done last year in the conference “From darkness to light: the tunnel of the transplanted patient”, this year too sport is at the center of the event with the presence of the Italian Volleyball Team for Transplanted and Dialysis Patients. This year we wanted to include three more topics: entrepreneurship, technology and resilience.

The topic of “entrepreneurship” will be covered by the PF. Daniele Manni professor of computer science at the Galilei-Costa Institute in Lecce. First Italian awarded at the “Gess Education Awards 2023” (Special Prize for Innovation). Pf. Manni was considered by the American magazine “CIO Look” to be a true leader and pioneer in the field of education, dedicating its cover to him. Manni emerges as an Italian icon among the 10 major visionary leaders who are transforming education, considering him among the 10 most impactful leaders in the world by the same magazine.

Dr. Giancarlo Orsini will discuss the technology topic. Training and Learning Manager, Dr. Orsini is a scientific communicator and author of the “Guarda il Futuro” website. Author of the book “Go”, the first augmented reality book in the world.

Resilience will be addressed by the Colonel of the Order of Honor of the Italian Army Dr. Carlo Calcagni. Helicopter pilot and instructor. He participated in various humanitarian actions, including the war in Bosnia-Herzegovina. For 25 years he has been fighting illnesses due to depleted uranium contamination. His motto is “Never give up”.

The event will conclude with the testimonies of the athletes of the Italian national volleyball team “Transplanted and Dialyzed Volleyball Club” who will explain their experiences and the difficulties encountered in searching for the organ to be transplanted.

Saturday 11 May the same program will be dedicated to the students of the “Q.Ennio” and “A.Vespucci” institutes of Gallipoli in the Teatro Italia starting from 9.00 am. Live on our page www.salentotelevision.it

In the afternoon of Saturday at 3.30pm an event will be held at the gym in Via Giorgio in Gallipoli Volleyball quadrangular with the presence of the Italian national team Transplanted and Dialysis Volleyball Clubsa team from the Institute “Q. Ennio “ from Gallipoli, a team from the Institute “A. Vespucci “ from Gallipoli and a team from “Volley Jonica” Gallipoli.
