(AGENPARL) – Thu 09 May 2024 International beach tennis and beach volleyball tournaments for the European Sports Days 2024 in Castiglione della Pescaia
Two new flagship events arriving in the calendar of the European Sports Days 2024 in Castiglione della Pescaia.
From 23 to 26 May the coastal town hosts the BT200 International Beach Tennis Tournament, and from 31 May to 2 June the National Stage of the BPER Beach Volley Italia Tour Circuit.
The events are organized by the Beach Tennis Toscana Event and Beach Volley Maremma Associations, which over the years have brought high technical level events for these two sports disciplines throughout Tuscany.
The International Beach Tennis Tournament, now in its 4th edition, is one of the most important tournaments on the continental and intercontinental calendar for this sport. The expected participation is around 150 athletes from Italy and abroad, who will compete for a prize pool of 15,000 dollars. To date, the registrations speak of over 70 pairs of male and female players among the top 20 in the world, coming from France, Venezuela, Poland, Albania, Spain, Brazil, San Marino, Australia, Estonia, Bulgaria, Portugal, Puerto Rico, Slovenia, Greece , as well as a large presence of Italians; just under 200 athletes and athletes in the collateral tournaments dedicated to the amateur movement.
For the National Stage of the BPER Beach Volley Italia Tour Circuit, it is an exclusive event on the national territory, in which approximately 100-150 of the best beach volleyball athletes on the Italian scene will participate. On Sunday 2 June there will also be collateral tournaments open to all members with the men’s doubles and women’s doubles 2 x 2 formulas like the format of the national stage.

The municipal administration is very satisfied with this sporting double which for 10 days will transform the Piazzale Maristella area on the Castiglione seafront into a small citadel of international sport. There will be many athletes of all nationalities, and the high level of the teams that will compete, demonstrating that sports tourism is a brand of great attraction in the country’s deseasonalization policy which helps us to improve the performance of tourist accommodation activities and to create new targets.
