ROMANDY. GODON CLOSES WHO BEATS CONSONNI. RODRIGUEZ WINS THE TOUR
Descriptive text here

It ends with the triumph of Carlos Cano Rodriguez the 77th edition of the Tour de Romandie (Switzerland). With his teammates from the Ineos Grenadiers, the Spaniard controlled the fifth and final stage with ease and clarity, from Vernier-Vernier of 150 km, which saw success in the sprint of Dorian Godon of the Decathlon AG2R La Difesa (it’s an encore for the Frenchman after the first stage) ahead of Simone Consonni of Lildl Trek and Dion Smith of Intermarchè Wanty. As for Rodriguez, the Iberian writes his name in the prestigious roll of honor of the Swiss race, preceding in the general the Russian Vlasov by 7 “and the German Lipowitz by 9” both from Bora Hansgrohe.

Rodriguez is the third Spaniard to win the Tour de Romandie after the successes of Abraham Olano in 1996 and Francisco Galdos in 1975.

The stage was characterized by the escape of Brenner, Cavagna, Raffery and Balmer who remained in the open for many kilometers. Once caught by the group, they tried to evade Paleni, Vendrame, Oomen, Hepburn, Valgren and lastly Guillaume Martin with 4 to go.
