After Ardea, Rome finally has its own «Piazza Franco Califano». It was inaugurated today, May 14, in the third municipality. To be precise a Casale Neiin an area of the city where toponymy already pays homage to famous names in music and entertainment, such as Gian Maria Volonté, Luchino Visconti and Rino Gaetano. Among them now there is also the «Caliph», 11 years after death of the Roman singer-songwriter who – perhaps more than anyone – linked his career to the Capital, making it his muse par excellence. Even after his death, with the recent release of a song entitled his own «Serenade in Rome» recovered from a private archive thanks to artificial intelligence.
The inauguration
There Califano Foundation with the Capitoline administration, for the occasion, they organized an inauguration-show, with the participation of institutions, artists and friends of the “Caliph”: from the mayor Roberto Gualtieri to the Councilor for Culture Miguel Gotor and the president of Municipality III Paolo Marchionneup to the singer-songwriter’s daughter Silviathe sister Liliana and a lifelong friend Maurizio Mattioli. And then with Califano’s great successes interpreted by Alberto Laurenti.
